.: The ResNet Database keeps track of all residents in the UW Oshkosh Residence Halls who get their internet through the University's WiscNet connection. During the summer of 2003 the residence halls at UW Oshkosh had a wiring upgrade allowing for more devices than in previous years. With the wiring upgrade the Department decided to change their policy on ResNet connection and tech support. This decision caused a need to rewrite our ResNet program.
.: Early on the was a great debate as to if it should continue to be a desktop
|  | application or if it should get moved onto the portal. It was decided to make it part of the portal. Given that we had used up most of the summer debating on features, platform and policy the project was given to me to accomplish in three weeks.
.: Three weeks later we had a working copy of ResNet Database Online Edition. I took full advantage of all that the portal offered me. The ResNet DB now uses some heavy javascript and ASP programming to create its user experience. |
